CHARACTER inspires Childs to paint Champions
Childs was introduced to the sport of Curling when Russ Howard came to the Village of Maryfield, SK, as part of his book release “Hurry Hard” and was inspired to paint Russ, “FOCUS”. She has created a unique portfolio of Champion Curler’s portrait paintings.
Whether they are Curling Champions of great recognition or curlers who simple love the sport and are dedicated to it, each Champion embodies the character their painting is named.
Attending curling events spread across the country Childs met with many of today’s and yesterday’s heroes of the game. Capturing them in film and pixels to build a library of reference to create large watercolour paintings of the Champions.
The first group of 10 paintings of Champions are being released as SPECIAL EDITIONS. The original watercolour paintings are captured in a beautiful gloss finish, featuring the Champion and name of the character of their painting.
