MIKE McEWEN, when we met, was DETERMINED to get to the Brier. He has been there 10 times now! Winning a Bronze medal in 2017 in St. John's must have been gratifying. Stepping into the world of Men's Curling as a young man Mike has skipped his teams into winning 7 Grand Slam and numerous other victories.

Using the "Manitoba Tuck" delivery, I never get tired of watching him and his little bit of Magic, his broom, which is a family heirloom. I tried to capture, in his painting, the gentle uniqueness of his release.

Mike, I believe, is just coming into his prime. With his history on the circuit and the last decade, his varied experiences and relationships with a large group of Canada's best, I see great things on the horizon.
